Possible defences include:

You were not driving;
You were driving an exempted vehicle in an emergency:
You were not speeding.
You received the NIP out of time.

If the camera was in a temporary restricted speed area you could argue there were insufficient speed limit notices. You would need to be sure of your ground on this one.

But if you were speeding, don't get telling porkies to try and get off.
