At the school I work at I often hear kids saying they were on MSN till the early hours; they are teenagers.
My son's friend who is nearly 8 broke his collar bone. I said "are you missing your friends at school?"
He said yes, cos there is nobody on MSN during school hours.
Is this a little young to be on MSN?

My 8 year old goes on it. I don't see the harm as long as I know who he's talking to. I also save all conversation history and check it.

Msn isn't as harmful as you only add your friends so he is probably just chatting to his mates... not as bad as going into a chat room... or AB.. lol
I think MSN is harmless as long as you keep an eye on things!! it may be worth keeping chat history like ummmm does.
It's actually improved his spelling no end.
Im always surprised they get to go on it at school though. My son was off yesterday and he went on and was chatting ot some girl who was at school. Amazing, we had to do school work when we went there!
I agree with ummm though, dont think 8 is too young, they are only friends on there so i cant see a problem.

Thanks all for your replies - I will have another think; perhaps it isn't as dodgy as I had thought. I was also thinking it must be hard to type anything at any worthwhile speed but I guess it can only improve it.
