No difference at all!

(ACCA is better than both though, although it is harder!)
The four biggest accountants in the world - The Big Four - all use ICAS or ICAEW in the UK and are generally considered to be the better respected. The ACCA qualification is used by more people and is easier to get on.
ACCA is the fastest growing. ACA is in decline with numbers falling every year due to retirements and dramatic fall in entrants.

ACCA is an international association stretching throughout Asia amoungst other places.

ACA is trying to merge with other accountancy associations due to the fall in people who want to do ACA, prefering to do ACCA.

There will probably be a merging of all the professional bodies one day.
