I had a car accident a month ago, it was a bad error of judgment on my part and at the time I thought it was fully my fault.

After describing the situation, my insurance co. have got an investigator on the case with a view to get dual liability as the other driver was doing something he shouldnt have been doing.

IF dual liability is the outcome is it too late to make an injury claim for whiplash? At the time an ambulance was called and I have a report saying I have the symptoms of whiplash but I never saw my doctor to confirm this, I just lived with the slight pain for a week or so.

Its been a month so is it too late to get any money?

(Please note I prob wouldnt even be thinki

Thanks

I do work!

If the other fella wants to claim for "whiplash"... why cant i?

go for it.

the worst that could happen is , the independant doctor that you will have to see could say you are ok. its not fraudulant to seek compensation.

I certainly am grateful.

If the other person would have been a motorcyclist they would have been killed, I learned a vital lesson about driving.

Back to the topic in hand.

The accident left me out of pocket. An excess to fund and the loss of 2 of the 3 years no claims bonus I had ate into the pocket, prob cost me 1000 overall for a momentary lapse of concentration.

I can see why people make claims they didnt 10-20 years ago, doesnt make it right, but thats life

We are all entitled to a mistake or two, our reactions to these mistakes make us what we are.

Your views are strong and deep down I do agree with you. I am constantly reading of ridiculous compensations awarded to people for things you would just put down to experience and so would I.

I was just caught up in the moment and the "suing culture" of which we are turning in to and thought I could have my "share" of the pie.

It is a sad state of affairs but what paying large sums of money out for "whiplash" creates is temptation... and I am a sucker for temptation. You wont be able to see this temptation from your side (if roles were reversed Id be saying the same as you mate, Id def be slagging me off!) but from my side it is there and I cannot see past it at the mo.

Your views will prob make me come to my senses but sadly it doesnt stop others from doing it!
