Found out they have a slightly different system than England so can anyone help with conveyancy charges on a property costing approx 150 thousand. I seem to be finding sites with huge differences in charges so am obviously doing something wrong. Also the solicitors has to be based on Scotland so we have been told. Thank you for any help or advice.

You are not doing anything wrong - solicitors can charge whatever they want for their services, disbursement costs are fixed.
There are several comparison sites that you can try, I don't know how reliable they are. This is one https://www.comparemymove.com/quote/conveyancing
