Did shopping in Lidl, back to car, looked for keys, searched bag, no sign of them, almost panicking when car park attendant came over and waved a set of keys at me. I asked where he found them. "They were in your car door madam"
I certainly felt a plonker!

Lucky he was around then.
Phew...for a moment there, Caran I thought the car park attendant was the idiot and you had felt...........☻
Blimey Caran, you were lucky that the attendant had spotted them and not a thief.
I've done that loads of times.

I also walked home from the supermarket, noticed my car wasn't outside the house and started to panic. I then remembered that I'd driven to the supermarket :-)
I am an expert in losing keys
Hey it wasn't the MG was it, Caran !.

I have done it before too. I collected the 3 youngest grandchildren from primary school, left car in school car park, went to park at the back of the school. After about half an hour a woman came to playground and just walked up to me and said here are your keys, they were in your car door. Now I hadn't seen this person before to my recollection, there were other people in playground so how the heck did she know they were mine?

Sorry Caran, I didn't know you had the kids with you. Unusual these days that you can't lock / unlock the car off a the key fob.
The, not a.
Where do you live that you can park in a school car park? Unheard of at any school anywhere near me.
That's not a polite thing to do to a car park attendant !

Tonyav I'm old fashioned, I have a key that goes in a lock.
Lucky he was there Caren. It's easily done. I went away for a weekend and left the front door wide open! Luckily a neighbour knew where the spare key is.
What a nice man...I hope you gave him a big hug Caran !
