I asked a question earlier this year about the non production of estate accounts by a sole executor. I engaged a specialist wills and probate solicitor who wrote to the executor and threatened that if the estate accounts were not produced then I would unpick the sale of a property which the executor bought from the estate which is, of course, illegal. The outcome is that I have now received a copy of the estate accounts and a cheque for the outstanding balance. My solicitor has informed me that their bill will go to the executor for payment as they have been negligent. It's taken a long time but at least now I can prove where the money came from.

seems like a good result - was the final balance a lot more in the end?

Is he still on your Christmas card list?

Chuckle, I think I may be off his Christmas Card list. The amount came to over a thousand pounds but it was never about the money, I wanted the estate accounts.
