brake life

Hi All,

Occasional grinding noise from rear wheels when braking, on focus c max auto, with 35k on clock. do the brake pads wear faster on the rears on an automatic?
it is driven in London all the time, so stop start, and obviously pulling on rear brakes when at traffic lights etc. Just thought I'd ask before taking wheels off, might save me putting it back on and going to the motor factor, then taking it off again.

thanks,
Percy.

Could try motoring section percy, might do better, as far as I know front brakes wear quickest regardless of transmission
