I can't believe someone has parked on my private drive! I returned home today to find a Range Rover actually on my drive, not blocking my drive but actually on my drive!!! It is a private house conversion with two parking spaces,

one is for my flat and the other space belongs to the first floor flat. I was forced to park on the street and what is really annoying is that neither the police nor the council can do anything about it as it is private property....am I missing something or can we all go around parking wherever we like now and to hell with the idiots that have paid through the nose for a parking space on their property??

Whilst that is very true HC, they wouldn't be getting off my drive without crossing my palm
Iv'e known people to put superglue in the door locks
I knew someone who once tinkered with someones windscreen wipers. They looked fine until they were turned on...and they flew off.
£££££s = wheel clamp it quick. Buy on ebay
Blimey, lots of people urging you to break the law - what do you think ontheedge???
No I can't either....................
ontheedge probably works for the police......
Or is a troll ??!
How prominent is the sign which says "Private Drive No Parking"?
It would be an offence for the OP to block the offending vehicle on their driveway, it's a speficic offence to block access to a public highway regardless of if the other person has parked on your property.

So if they do block them in it's the OP that could find themselves in trouble with the police.
Welcome to Answerbank. Your post is a lot more conversational than my first tentative post on here. Have you established that the car does not belong to a visitor to the first floor flat?
It is amazingly easy to get a vehicle towed away for scrap, you don't need any paperwork or even the keys (not suggesting you do this, but I was go smacked how easy it was to get rid of old van).
yes dont break the law or cause damage that eventually you maybe held responsible for. I would check with the neighbour and if is a visitor ask them to please move it. If they dont move it or if it is some random person block them in.
Well ontheedge, the police were interested when it happened to me, despite what you've been told on here. I phoned them and they said I was within my rights to get it towed off OR if I gave them the registration number they would try and get in contact with the owner and ask him to move it. Within 10 minutes or so of me putting the phone down the owner turned up having been contacted via his mobile by the police. He was visiting a neighbours house. So the police were very helpful in my case.
You used to be able to get some very sticky notices for the windscreen which said "Don't park here or I'll put another of these on here everytime" . You would put one right in the middle of the driver's forward view, and it would take about a week to scrape the stuff off.
If the police accuse you of vandalism, you say you had no idea how sticky the labels were.
I would be inclined to bye a clamp & clamp it Ontheedge.
And then it would be stuck there and you'd be liable for any damage. What's wrong with doing what I did?
Just wondered what happened with the car owner? Did you do anything?
Perhaps ontheedge has gone overtheedge. It would be good to hear the answer to some of the queries and suggestions on here
Smow are you talking to me or the OP?
