In relation to salaries what is the Spinal Column Point?  How much is each point worth?  i.e. if I was on SCP 2 or SCP11 or SCP 34?  Is there a definition anywhere as I can't seem to find one!  Thanks in adavance.

I had this when I worked for our Local Authority, I don't know if all Local Authority SCP's are the same, but I was issued with quite a thick booklet listing all of the SCP's when I started working for them.

Are you in local govt?

If you are then do a search of spinal points for your authority.  Remember a large number of local govt did revalue posts and these scps changed across the country.

Also if you are in a union or you know the unions that are represented at your place of work, look for them on the internet and they should show you the scales etc.

I think it varies from authority to authority as I work for a council and I know that others doing the same job in other councils get significantly more than I do!
