Shoplifting costs the retail outlet something like £5 billion per year.

Yes shop lifting is looting without the violence.

I just wonder if many of the people and some ABers who condemned the looting would indeed have helped themselves had they had access to a store with no security in an atmosphere of "come on in and fill yer boots"..

Just a thought.

Not me...I couldn't live with myself. I'd spend everyday waiting for karma to get revenge.

Without the violence is quite a reduction.
Anyway I don't take a large enough shoe size.
any form of taking something which does not belong to you with or without a security deterrent, is totally wrong
Absolutely not.
I don't take stuff which doesn't belong to me, or that I haven't paid for.

Never have, never would.
Exactly Jack, I was always taught that honesty is the best policy,it would appear that ''not a lot of people know that''.

Well i dont usually jackthehat but i would be tempted if there was say a nice Cartier Watch within my grab. Who knows what we would do in that situation.
Same at jackthehat, If you cannot pay for it you go without, or save for it.
Never, and if I saw someone shoplifting I'd report them.
^^what craft said
Just like jackthehat I've never stolen anything and never would.
A couple of months ago I was given £5 too much in change from W H Smith. I walked half a mile back to the shop to return it. Some would call me a mug but that's the way I was brought up.
