My paedo neighbour (some will be familiar with the story) pled guilty at an intermediate diet that he had bought drink for 14yrs olds with the view to having sex with them and blackmailing one via text.He was bailed until 16Oct when he was jailed for 9mths.
He was placed on the sex offenders register. He had loads of previous for same including a previous jail sentence and also 12mths probation for being in my back garden trying to entice my daughter out her bedroom. My 14yr old (at that time) daughter had to endure a trial and I was a witness yet he was still allowed to stay at the back of us and we had to ignore him daily.

Just bl00dy seen him strolling up to his house -i'm fizzing !!

I mean seriously fuming -how the eff can he be out of jail 3wks later???

I do hope someone can give me a reasonable explanation soon as im almost apopleptic (sp?) with rage.

I have no idea at all Dris, but suspect he is out on licence. Keep clear of him - I bet the court would not be so lenient with you should you get embroiled with him. By all means monitor and record anything you see untoward and inform the authorities accordingly. As in Oliver Twist - the law is a ass....
Dris,
does he own the place he lives in? If he's a tenant you could approach the council and see if they'll move him.
dris, have yopu got a contact number for the police who dealt with it before?
call them or your local station, they should be able to help

Ta ttfn -I just dont understand why he got out after 3wks of a 9mth sentence when he pled guilty.

sandy -the house he lives in is owned by his ex father in law who is a great neighbour and I suspect he was given tenancy so they could keep an eye on him.Even tho my good neighbour's daughter left him because of his previous-they still have children so it was probably done with the best of intentions.

Surely he hasnt appealed his sentence ???
Even if re-location was possible I doubt it would allay the op's fears for the safety of any children in a new neighbourhood
fair enough for being enraged! contact the police, not the 999 one the other number and ask why he has been let out of jail. this is awful.
Dris - I wonder if the authorities would tell you whether or not this criminal is 'tagged' and if so - for what duration?
Question Author
red -when he was first arrested and appeared in court we approached the Police as we were frightended for vigilantes as there was a few youngsters involved- and they were like us -didnt have a clue. Its awful and they agreed that it want on that we werent even warned about this
Thing is now if the parents/family find out he's out then they will wreak havoc -im absolutely dumbfounded that yet again he is being protected for some bl00dy reason.

ttfn -he was tagged about 2 yrs ago as he approached yet another 14tr old.The Police even came to our house and asked where H was at that time (he was down south) but by the description they gave I told them who it would be -sure enough.
He is infiltrating our lives -how long can anyone be expec ted to keep their mouths shut -thats 7yrs for me and tell ya that has been hard but ive done it.
Now I feel like ive had a real kick in the face -its almost like he gets away with everything and the victims if they dare to speak up would get nicked.
I wonder what would happen if a lot of anonymous letters were posted to houses in the area telling what he'd done?
try the police anyway. If hes on the sex offenders register then they must be aware of his whereabouts and should also know exactly why hes out and home again.
Bloody hell :-(

Did he serve time on remand?
My knowledge of the law is scant - either English or Scottish. I have read through this
http://www.scottish.p...es_brief/sb02-54.pdf, the latter part of which just seems to be intent on rehabilitation. Have you and your neighbours ever lobbied your local MP on this matter ? - sorry if this is a silly question.
Question Author
red -thats what ive just done -it just dawned on me that he had been placed on the register. The local police were brilliant-totally understood and were as surprised as me and i'm just waiting on the Sgt to call me back (who I know personally as it happens) to get it sorted.
Thanks all -youve saved me from chapping his door and asking him what the craic was and I dont jest.
I'll post again and let you know the outcome-and relax.............................
Question Author
ummm -no never on remand.
ttfn -I lobbied after what happened with my daughter and had the Family Police Liasin officer visit me and him and he was warned to stay away. (the only time he came to the door was after the 'accident' to offer condolences but H said that best not to come near the door again).I contacted the school -we share a wall with what was the Primary School at that time yet he was still allowed to stay there even with the schools involvement.I fought long and hard and no-one could legally help.
Then he goes and does it another twice ending up with another jail sentence.
Little wonder that people get incandescent with rage over paedophiles.
Well something good has come out of your actions today if you have alerted the police to the change in the situation. Well done - keep relaxed and good luck ♥
glad the police have managed to calm you down a bit and i hope that they can help you.

ps, i havnt said it in my rplies so far but id be fuming too!
I'd be more than fuming.
ummmm, the swear filters wouldnt let me write more lol
