Peter Hain doesn't think so, yet! So how will Ed and co persuade the public that he is PM material?

Is Ed Pm Material? ... i can't think of one leading politician that is pm material
Ed Milliband looks and sounds strange.

There is no getting away from that fact.

He might have a mind as sharp as a needle, and he might be nice to his family, but as a leader and an international statesman he simply hasn't got the elements required.

One is that you don't look like a human constructed from an alien species who used old Woody Allen films through hazy projectors to create their model.

Two is that when you talk, you don't sound like you are trying to swallow a golf ball while being simultaniously waterboarded by someone who has your testcles in a vice and is drumming their fingers on the tightening handle.

Solve those two, and Ed coiuld be electable, but as it is ....

The difficulty Labour have is that they got all giddy and chose him over his brother, and now they are stuck with him because to ditch him any time in the next twelve months would make them look like mealy-mouthed backj-stabbers. Which they are, but the don't want to make it obvious to the voting public.
So andy - wer'e going to end up with Cameron for a further stint .

How depressing is that
We are, and it is Bazlie - not because we want Cameron, so much as the appaling thought of any of the alternatives.

A public school snake
An android
A colourless wimp
A swivel-eyed loon

What a choice we have to look forward to!
//He might have a mind as sharp as a needle//

I doubt that very much. No, he's not fit for office as it is, so he's certainly not PM material.
I doubt it too, but I'm trying to be kind.
:o)
Ed seems more genuine than the last 2 snakes.(not hard, I must admit)
And might I just add, Peter Hain literally makes me feel sick.
Trying to avoid political point scoring, but no I dont think he has it at all.

His brother I think would have had the Tories on the run.

Ed, well ......
And that's the problem youngmafbog - even assuming David Milliband would come back, it's all too late now - I'd love to know what he thinks about it all.
Would Wallace be chancellor?
Sorry I obviously meant Gromit..........
The blackadder version of William Pitt the younger comes to mind whenever I see him on the news.

jomifl....LOL

Well, the Socialists felt that Michael Foot was P.M material and he makes Ed Milliband have the charisma of Bill Clinton.....so yes....why not?
Sqad - to be fair, Michael Foot's Labour Party was a million miles away from the debacle the Milliband inherited.

In those days, your Socialist principles and the ability to quote yards of Bevan's speeches cut more ice than the fact that you dressed like Wurzel Gumage and answered every interview question with that little laugh that simultaniously acknolwedges the utter fatuousness of the question and questioner, coupled with the lofty patience of the god-like that means Mr Foot will eventually frame an answer - utterly incomrehensible though it will be.

Now we are all image, and buddies and call-me-Dave and all being in it together, and all that guff, and still poor old Ed won't fit.

Oh well ....

No, he isn't, and neither is Call me Dave!
No.

I said the same about Dave 5 years ago.

I was right then, as well.
-- answer removed --
Got to admit Call me Dave is a better option than Flappy-mouth Miliband, every new idea he has come up with has been debunked as rubbish. He doesn't know the cost of a loaf of bread. He is not the sort of person to be on a public stage with other world statesmen, a sort of Jerry Lewis embarrassment imo.
Andy...is the "swivel-eyed loon" who I think he is ? Surely he isn't PM material quite yet...wouldn't he have to get some MP's in Parliament first !
