Got caught doing 58mph just before I got into a 40mph zone.
What happens now do I get a fine and points?
Or do I have to go to court?
Havent received my ticket yet as i was driving a company car and my company informed me.

You will be given the chance to pay the fine and take the points or contest it in court.

I understand in some cases, you might be given the opportunity to forgo the 3points for a speeding awareness course, which if offered, you have to pay for.

Oh looking at Doc's post you won't get the chance tp do speed awareness. You would of had to have been doing 50mph 40mph + 4(10%) +6

Ok thanks guys
You will be sent to prison for at least 5 years ; )
what zone were you in if you weren't in the 40 mph zone? what was the speed limit where you actually were? the speed limit dosen't come into force till you actually pass the sign
If you were in a 30mph zone you are unlikely to be offered the speed awareness course or a fixed penalty.

You will probably be summonsed and Magistrates' sentencing guidelines is a fine of one week's net income (reduced by a third if you plkead guilty) and either six points or a disqualification for 56 days.
