I have been accused of theft from my employer, something I completely deny. I have not been charged however, I can see this happening due to circumstantial evidence. I look forward to my day in court. It has become apparent the police are missing the issues that can prove my innocence all be it I concede it is their job to help prove my guilt. They have not searched my work place fully or even close so realistically I have it in my mind that they can't say for sure things are missing. My 1st Q to them in court would be, have you searched, answer not fully. Then how do you know they are missing. Am I barking up the wrong tree here. The implication of being found guilty is huge, I will lose everything including children, home, wife, job, pension etc. Grateful for any help/guidence.

As I have said the company has not followed the correct procedure here at all , they should never have accused anyone of theft without a full physical check and stock take . I am certain that the company can not now proced with the accusation, they have already made such serious errors that the case could never go to court. I would definately now sue your company...

did you nick the wire from the air conditioning units?
What you're accused of taking, is it animal, vegetable, or mineral?
What's this, twenty questions?

I am not trying to be evasive, I did not do it. My family circumstances are strained due to the stress of this. The fact that I have constantly placed my job before my family has not helped. I realise what I can lose and this scares me. This is most certainly the kick I needed to reprioritise my life if all goes well and the truth comes out. Thanks to all that have replied.
'It has become apparent the police are missing the issues that can prove my innocence' ... Do you have this evidence? Who does? What is the evidence? If something and you are not saying what has gone missing, it has to be somewhere... have your fellow colleagues been questioned? Why only you? Could amount to bullying? More details are needed...
obviously you're being evasive and focusing on the maybe not the facts.
I wish you hadn't mentioned Twenty Questions. That takes me back to the days of Franklin Engelmann, Norman Hackforth, Joy Adamson, Anona Winn and Peter Glaze.
" And the next object is..."
need facts...
Crackerjack
was that for real
Who knows?

I obviously misunderstood the way this board works. I was after some genuine advice. I was not intentionally being evasive. I gave you the facts. Other staff have been interviewed too however, I don't know what has been said. As for the flippent comments, I just hope you are never put in the same situation.
Hi ldon101- if you ask a question in a a serious section such as law then the people who can help you will need a lot more detail than you have provided. Lack of detail tends to indicate someone who hasn't told the truth or is leaving out key facts that would change the advice given. Seriously, if you want some decent advice, then you need to give the full facts (after all, your are, to all extents and purposes, anonymous on here).
it's a question and answer site, we asked the questions and you didn't answer. what is it your employers think you have stolen? What do you know that they don't that makes you think you would be cleared of the alledged theft?
I wish you well ldon101... I think people genuinely want to help and need more facts... If you can provide more facts and keep us posted I am sure someone can give some good advice. There are some good people on here who will try and help :)

i said that at the start eddie but i know nowt me
Who is prosecuting you, the police or the employer?
In my humble opinion I can't see how they can accuse you of stealing yet keep you working there... Like Eddie51 says they should suspend you pending enquiries I'm sure. Does your wife know about this? If not, recommend you talk to her now... rather than leave it longer and longer :)
