I am exhausted by all this legal battling. The will was sorted July 09. my children have not received anything from their fathers estate. Their solicitor is holding an interim payment for my son but wants to take his fees for both my son and daughter a quoted nd says in his e mail that my son can get what his sister owes him for this from her later. He has gone 60% over on his quoted fees without giving them any updates along the way. My son complained that he could be seen as taking advantage of their youthand inexperience. The solicitor replied that his comment was libellous and until arrangement for his fees were made he would do nothing on their file. My son asked that the client care partner be invo;ved. Almost 3 weeks later he has a letter from solicitor not mentioning complaint but to inform of costs of deed of appointment .
How much is the solicitor charging? Maybe it's best just to pay it and put all this behind you so you can move on
You say your son asked for the client care partner to be involved. I assume you mean by this that he was making a complaint about the solicitors work, or the fee amount or the insistence on taking your daughter's share of the fee from him (or perhaps all three).

Whichever partner in the firm is reponsible for complaints should reply to this letter and address the issues raised in it. If they don't, or your son is not satisfied, then he can go to the solicitors complaints body. Ring the Law Society to enquire about this.
