Debt owed from 1999. Not chased for a few years due to illness. E-mails, verbal and telephone conversations with director of debtor limited company up to Dec 2002. Can a county court claim be made?

When did you last make a payment or admit the debt in writing? If it was over 6 years then a CCJ cannot be issued, but if it is under 6 years then the creditor can still take you to court.

By the looks of what you have written above your last written correspondance (email) was in December 2002, so your 6 years isnt up until December 2008.

I have letters dated later than 2002 to teh directors of the debtor company asking for payment. As I now understand it I am in time to make a county court claim.
Hello DCFCOK. I think the wording of your question made your meaning a little unclear.
I now think you are saying that a company owes you money and you want to claim it through the court. It looks as if you are within the 6 year limit but you need to be sure your letters were properly addressed to the recipient and clearly set out the details of the debt.
