my girlfriend has lived with me for 6 years and has never
contributed towards any bills, we have split and i have moved out until she can get a place to live, now she wants
half of my house. Is she now just a tenant?what she entiltled to ?

Have you kept her for six years? Has she worked and contributed to the household in any way - such as decorating, furnishing and treating the place as her own home? Was the intention that the house be regarded as both your homes?

Do you have children together? Has she children from a previous relationship that you have been supporting?

she has been working the entire time, she did not contribute to the bills in any way. I have been paying her bills (insurance, car tax). She has only purchased furniture, which she has advised that she is taking with her when she goes. She has a child with a previous partner, i have been supporting him for 6 years and his mother has been keeping the maintanance from his father. She did lend me �3000 about to years ago (for home improvments) which i have paid her in full. She has now forced me to live with family until she decideds that she is ready to move(rent free). I am seaking legal advised but due to the time of year there is a long waiting list.

Are you in a union? they sometimes have solicitors who will chat on the phone. also keep any receipts and proof of what you have paid her back. I went through this two years ago, but he moved out, he had no rights whatso ever. My house etc. There is a book called co-habiting can be bought at wh smiths i think, i found it a good base to start, but you need to find a scary solicitor. Good luck
