My Son took an O2 contract out in a well known retailler high st shop. Unfortunately he defaulted on the contract and is subsequently paying his monthly debt which is almost cleared now. 02 now claim that another contract was taken out on the internet the same day which we strongly defute, my son did not even have a credit / debit card at the time. We are being constantly threatenend with debt collectors. i have spoken & written to O2 and the debt agency asking for proof of contract at least 4 times. so far they have sent nothing. does anyone know where we stand and what help we should seek??

have you tried the telecoms ombudsman?
I had problems with O2 online after they changed a contract and messed up my bills, both my sisters had problems where they were charging for texts never sent (ie 30 in 5 mins at 3am etc).
It took a long time but Im pleased to say we all won our battles although my own wasnt helped by O2 cutting my phone off each month the moment they issued my bill.
Speak to customer complaints and ask to be assigned one person as a contact.
otelo are the ombudsman http://www.otelo.org.uk/content.php?pageID=100
O2 is a member and so they should be able to offer some advice.
keep records of everything you can, even make notes of all the times you call and any letters you send or receive.
best of luck to you
