ive been looking at jobs on the poundland site and they have managerial jobs available. i have been a manager in a newsagents before and i wondwered if anyone here knows through friends or family what sort of company they are to work for? i know it will be a personal opinion but im just curious as ive heard varyign stories about them but from staff an dnot management

I hear they intend to open 800 stores. They were taken over a few years ago by Americans I think and they are turning over a huge profit at the moment.

The staff seem to be v.happy & hold their jobs for 4y+ in our local. Staff constantly busy re-stocking & politely helpful. Till staff increased quickly according to queues.
Staff are mainly asian or Polish with few english.

Some goods can be bought cheaper in s'markets.

thanks everyone i will read the article umm and tambourine its the same in my local store but im thinking of one of the managerial jobs in a different location because they are offering to relocate prospectiv managers
