i lost my job when recession started , im working now but not in the industry i was in before. i do the obvious like look on the internet, cold call companies, and register with agencies etc, look in local papers

but theres NOTHING going at all........

dont get me wrong im lucky to be ina job at all, but im sick of using that as an excuse ------ theres always a way if theres a will...

but im losing hope - this recession never loooks like ending........am i destined to be in a job that i hate ? do i just accept it

ieven though im doing all i can to find something , i keep feeling guilty that i could be doing more when i am relaxing at home etc, but u cant look for jobs 24 hours a day that really would be a sad existance wouldnt it????

just like to know what routines other people have which may be successful

Somebody else asked a question on Law about what to do when you are redundant.

As I said to the questioner:

As the others have said, it is hard. But you just have to keep throwing mud at the wall until something sticks!

It is often a good idea to sit down and look at the skills you have - ask others to help you and then look around for other jobs where these skill might be appropriate, to broaden your search.

I would really recommend you buy the book (or get your employer to buy it for you) called "What colour is your parachute" - they call it a practical manual for job hunters and it is very helpful:
