Police application

I am in the process of filling in my application to join the force. I am really struggling to come up with ideas for two questions asking me 1) to describe a situation where I had to problem solve and then 2) to describe a situation where I acted assertivley and accepted responsibility for my actions. anniebird		(Thu 13:12 02/Jul/09) As these answers re supposed to be from your own experience I do not know how you can expect any suggestions from complete strangers. You are the only person who knows what problems you have solved and when you have acted assertively.
PeeBee1		(Thu 15:06 02/Jul/09) It is quite hard to think of things, its only when you ask someone the question & they tell you their experiences or say has this or that ever happened that you think oh yes i done this & i done that & was assertive in this situation. Cant think off top of my head Amy, will have a think 4 u

zzxxee		(Thu 15:25 02/Jul/09) in a work environment have you ever had to do a spur of the moment decision that was not in your job description? maybe a decision that somebody of higher rank commended you for?? have you ever been in a situation where you have had to give or assist in first aid??
Whoever		(Thu 18:12 02/Jul/09) Try starting off with your friends and family who perhaps know you best. Have you ever been involved in a family crisis - illness, death, emergency where you've been able to step in and take over, or help bring the matter to a satisfactory conclusion? Has a friend been taken ill and you've taken her home and looked after her, done her shopping, called out a doctor etc? You don't say what you're doing for employment at the moment, how old you are or whether you're a relative young person/school leaver? Have you been involved in any youth or voluntary organisations where you've been a leader or helper?
