unfortunately it's your age, nobody can legally employ you till you are 15, and even then there is loads of laws about how many hours per week, what type of work and times you can work. you can check all this out on the gov website.

Paper boys/girls change often. I don't think having your name down will get you a job, you need to call in often. Buy something for 20p and ask if there are any vacancies everytime you are in. They will recognise you with familiarity and also know you are serious about wanting a round.

The free local papers. Usually Newsquest pay £15 per evening but it's hard work (with trolley).

There are also milk rounds which are good pay.

You have to be 13 now, my daughter started at 12 (yes I'm a slave driver - not really she saved up and bought a horse) but employers are required by law to register their young employees now. Also some stores/restaurants employ 14yr old for weekend work. Worth calling around.

You are allowed to work in boarding kennels and catteries from the age of 13. If you get a job, your employer must apply for a permit from your county council juvenille employment department . Good luck.

Why don't you beat the employers at there own game and set up a car washing service/tidying gardens or dog walking business, after all young Richard Bransons have to start somewhere. If you are not afraid of hard work it won't be difficult & would look good on your CV in future!
