From recent reports in the Times yesterday by Sir Peter Williams one would assume that one attribute would be a good maths qualification.

Investigations have uncovered that the highest qualification in the subject of maths held by most primary teachers is a poor grade C in GSCE.

From the 10,000 trainee primary teachers recruited on the PGCE (post graduate certificate in education) courses, only 227 or 2.3 per cent have previously studied maths, science, technology or engineering at degree level.

There are plans to roll out week long summer schools in which teachers will get paid to learn maths, under new proposals to improve teaching in the UK's 17,000 primary schools.

Remember these are primary school teachers, teaching primary school children basic maths.

1. be strict but be fair, not to strict though.
if a teacher lets you do anything and not pay attention you just walk all over him/her. If a teacher is strict but fair you respect them. Not if there to strict though you just dislike them

2. Don't show when things get to.
People can be really horrible. If you show when your upset or frustrated the class sees that and tries to make you feel worse. some people just dont want to learn so use there time to annoy you. If you show things get to you children wil just walk all over you

3.provide extra help.
i've just had some my GCSEs and an outstanding teacher is a teacher is a teacher who puts their time and effort to help with revision. My biology teacher did dinner time and after school classes.

4. Treats children fairy
never have favourites. the children that are the favourites dont like that you have favourites so theres no point having favourites wih a certain group so you think children will lik you.

5. Treat children with respect
how do teachers expect us to treat them wth respect if they dont trea us with it.

5. Actually like children.
I know it sounds funny but I hav been taught be people that don't like children.
