The US has been big on these sort of tests since the 1980's - treat them with caution, as they are only as good as the imaginations of their creators an they are often created with a an agenda eg to 'prove' to poor black kids that Macdonalds was the only option. Simpsons did a good skit on this in the episode where Lisa Simpson is diagnosed as potential 'homemaker' ("It's like a mommie, dear").
In UK I believe the 'Fast Tomato' website used by Connexions contains a similar database that tries to match your to training courses. I tried this resource a while back, inputting information that indicated I wanted to be and had the skills to be a technical translator - it gave me something like typing and office skills as my life choices.
If you have the time and can afford it, do your degree in whatever enthuses you. The future will belong to creative problem solvers. Just remember Buffy is a story, not real......!
