Does anyone work or worked in CAD -dealing with 999 calls?

I'd just like to know what tests and interviews are involved. I'm thinking of joining!

Is it for the Met Police? If so, then you will need to do a typing test (can't remember how many words a minute it was as was a few years ago, but was quite low). Then there is a hearing test where you stand in a booth and press a button every time you hear a beep. Also a telephone test, where you take a couple of mock 999 calls to see how you respond. Interview wise, it's pretty much a standard interview, will want to know why you want to do the job etc, will ask about times when you've managed to keep calm under pressure etc, ensure you're willing to work shifts, nights, bank holidays, christmas etc. It is quite involved but worth it. Good luck
Hiya, I have CAD in front of me right now! The joy of shifts! There is a lot to it but assuming the system you'll be using is the same as mine, it's easily picked up. Very clever stuff! Like Kaz said, you will need to prove you can type and remain calm under pressure. I had a typing test, mock 999's (horrible!) and a phychometric test. I really enjoy my job and would say to go for it!
