I am about to start a psychology degree and want to know how I can go about getting some practical counselling experience to compliment my studies. Does anyone have any ideas?

Try applying to your local Samaritans branch to become a volunteer, or ask about other voluntary work in your area. Few (if any) professional counsellors would permit unqualified persons to have contact with their clients, so you may be restricted to voluntary work

Good luck with your psychology.

Hi, my friend did psycholygy and complimented her degree by being a student mentor. She only started this in her third year but it ws a great experience and she got paid for listening to other students once in a blue moon!

Maybe worth looking into...
