Had an E-mail claiming it was from HMRC and I had a an unclaimed tax refund for £292.
Had a look at the link details and its from Oz!
I wonder how many click on it when they receive it.

You have been very lucky if you haven't had these before, unless you don't normally look in your spam folder.
They are quite clever using a believable figure, not huge riches.

Always remember though that HMRC don't communicate in this way.
Had a text saying much the same. Checked the URL it wanted me to go, on the Net, everyone said it was a scam.
Both the previous posters are correct cats. May I just add that if anyone does inadvertently open on of these "emails", under no circumstances ring a phone number listed or click on a link provided. You would be very unlucky indeed if the email got past your spy and malware settings with malware embedded. But your security settings are negated if you open any link it carries.
Oh, and the official tax website said that they do send texts (!) and I am expecting a refund from last year, so it was good I double checked.

Thanks all. I never open these e-mails but I was surprised to see it in my inbox because Virgin Media seem quite good a recognising spam and these type of messages normally go directly to the spam folder.
