Well I haven't bothered turning up to CU although it is usually at night anyway.
But I know what matter what way it turns I will always do a little voluntary work.
Over the years believe it or not I would have put my name down but nobody ever phoned me back (I'm nobody's child)
Anyway have just phoned a Voluntary centre and they have been very friendly and want me to come down and have a look at their premises - I am not sure maybe for the homeless, cook for them - I am going to go down tomorrow this lady said she finishes at 5.00 so even I go back to CU I'd still like to something like this anyway during the day anyway.
sorry Viv - please read the first sentence - - they may be looking out for me tonight but of course I won't be there and the same for tomorrow night - it is a waiting game to see if they ever contact me at all. but if anything happens I will let you know
Be sure you are not cutting your nose off to spite your face. You have posted frequently about your disquiet about the CU but it may give you more than you realise just now.
Also Eccles - I am very loath to bowing down on one knee to a “used to be receptionist in a motor mechanic garage 3 years ago" and plead for a voluntary job that I have been doing for 36 years.
If I were you I would go tonight even if only to see what is going on. It may be that they are training everybody in all aspects of the job. If you are still not happy with the change tell them.
Get your head out of you bum JJ. By your own admittance you don't know the intention and if as Retrochic suggested it is to ensure that all volunteers can assist wherever they are needed them more the good.
You do seem to be being more than a little hasty but if you have reached the end of your tether with the CU then so be it.
when I spoke to manager at home last week (when I got the letter) - she told me I was the only one tonight being moved - now there are 5 staff tonight - so why me.
Silliemillie - everybody can be done without - so no worries there. And also manager will be away home anyway.
Eccles - nobody will be worried as when I received the letter last week I contacted the workers there that night did they receive one so they all know what I am upset about. They were shi&&ing themselves if they got one too and none of them had so certainly will know that I am not lying dead here.
Hi jj... I hope you have good luck with the Voluntary Centre which you have planned to visit tomorrow. You have a big heart which I feel is full of kindness and more folk like you are needed in this world.
hansy hansy - what you may think and believe - may not be true!!
I am not at the moment non pracisitng RC - but believe I am a Christian.
I truly want to get back to the my true faith practcising RC and I am going to go to a retreat - in Larne - they have them on time to time. There are so many questions and puzzles that when I was young I used to take them all for granted. But I need answers now. Far be it I a Holy Joe.
