Where on earth was Merkel about 25 years ago when Germans were torching hostels containing Turkish Labourers on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, such demonstrations are almost always hijacked. And the hijackers ARE extremists. The genuine voice of ordinary people is drowned out by the far right.
If you have ever seen a demonstration by the English Defence League, far from being presentative of the concerned public about immigration, they are drunken yobs by and large who 20 years ago were spoiling football.

Think you may of been on holiday but several weeks ago there were photographs of German citizens demonstrating peacefully with their National flags. There were family groups,people in wheelchairs etc. No way could they be likened to EDL or any right wing fascist group. Just people concerned how their country was to pan out for the future.

Interesting to see that EDL's only Muslim member was ushered away, after trying to pull a Union Flag out of his bag.
