I'm 16 and when I finish 6th form I will be 18 then I would love to take a gap year to America I have found a 9 week course for a gymnastics instructor which sounds great as im qualified, but I also would like to try being an au pair (by the way can you do this for just 6 months instead of a year?) for a while and maybe working in a bar that would be great. This is just something I have to try, so how do I go about it? Oh yea and prefelably in california orange county so then I can also go to mexico for a sight seeing visit.
Thanks

Hey,

Sounds fab and a great plan.  I'm currently also planning a trip to the USA, but not for the same sorts of thing as you, so no specific advise to be honest.  Except to say that unfortunately it's unlikely that you'll be able to work in a bar as you'll be 18, not 21 as required in most US states.

Enjoy the US and TJ though! :-)  Oh, and good luck for the 6th form.  :-)
