For the last 3 wks my 10yr old email address has refused to download prompting for a password. I dug it out but it does not work. I have gone to send/receive settings, default, no luck. my older email address works. I am using Virgin cable broadband. It says pop3 password needed. what can I do?

How are you trying to access your email? Since there's a reference to POP3 I assume that it's via a dedicated email client (such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail or Thunderbird), rather than via web access, but which client is it? (Can you also confirm that it's a Virgin email address. If it's not, please tell us which email provider you're using).

It was outlook using a blueyonder e mail address. Think it's solved, as I put in Virgin server password and its downloading. Although curiously after complaining to Virgin, the Indian call centre offered me a £5 refund(big deal) and have sent a new modem. I think someone threw a wrong switch when I downgraded my tv package???
