Hi. I am currently on an induction course as a care assistant for a private health care company working in the community.
There are a few things that I am not happy with and wondered if they are things that occur routinely within the industry.
We are expected to buy our own uniforms.
We have to pay for our own CRB checks
I have another job which is paid on an Ad Hoc basis and because of this I am not being paid for this weeks induction.
Any advice please people ?
Many thanks
Elaine

yes both of those things are fairly routine
That sounds about right, although I can't comment on your not being paid for induction, is the other job with the same company? If you were NHS then your uniform and CRB would be paid by your employer, but things are very different int he private sector.
