does anyone know if my work place has to give me time off work to attend an interview if im contracted i have a interview on friday 12.30 and im contracted 7-4

Err, no - that's what your leave is for - you choose when and how to use it.
The only exception that I know of is in the teaching profession, staff seem to get time off to attend interview - because they are contracted 100% of term time.
