What's on your menu today?

We're having seafood paella and sliced baguette with some Gruner Veltiner to wash it all down.

How about you?

I'm doing scallops, roast figs, mozzarella, parma ham, tomoatoes and basil salad...

And I might do a side of spuds :-)
got a gorgeous chunk of angus rib eye that will be seared and lightly roasted - chipotle rub over the beef before it goes in the oven...probably a mash, french beans and braised chicory with it....
and the wine, a Norton Riserva Malbec from Argieland.

How long do you roast the figs for, Ummmm? Do you halve or quarter them?

Sounds lovely, DT. I don't mind a nice Malbec myself.
Beans on toast, swallowed down with tap water.
I usually cut a cross in the top and squeeze them a bit so the open out, drizzle with honey and bung in a hot over for about 10 mins...but I check them after 5.

Today I'm going to 1/4 them and cook with balsamic and vinegar and then use that as a dressing.
Balsamic and honey!! Not extra vinegar...
We've got some lovely pork ribs that will be smothered in bbq sauce and slow cooked. Served up with coleslaw and corn on the cob.
Stir fry using up the veg I found in the fridge, along with some rump steak from an M&S meal deal cut into strips. Anyone got a suggestion for a stir fry sauce? I have chillies, balsamic, the usual cupboard stuff.
Failing that, I'm off to Ummms but only if she does spuds..

Sounds lovely, Rocky...apart from the corn on the cob ;)

Thanks Ummmm. I do love figs. I usually have them quartered on porridge.

Not having a bank holiday tipple, Patsy?
Might have a glass of white wine about 8.00 pm..
Duck mushy peas and baked potato washed down with aldi kooliburra red which I love, a bottle a day keeps the doctor away, despite the daily mail which changes every day on its opinion on health and red wine
Hmmmm, now fancying some figs. Have blue cheese to stuff them with and prosciutto to wrap them in....tomorrow's starter is sorted :-)

Tonight we're having fish pie and veg. Feeling rather idle and disengaged.
Macaroni cheese with bacon bits and crusty bread
Had a treat lunch out, had Caribbean style slow braised belly pork with coleslaw and some seasoned fries, it was lovely!
