A I assume, same as A2
Do you mean AS level exams?
The highest grade available at GCE AS-Level is grade A, which counts for 60 UCAS points (which is the same score as for a grade D at A-level).

The highest grade available at GCE AS Double Award Level is AA, which counts for 120 UCAS points (the same as grade A at A-level).

See here:

at the end of your A2s you can get an A* with a combination of your AS and A2 results. (I only know this from selling the study books at work and it's part of our training)

Whats a double award level?
well there are A levels, AS level and A2 level, some subjects perhaps have modular and exam awards that count as a double?
>>>Whats a double award level?

There are a few AS-level subjects (or combinations of subjects) that can be studied to 'double' level. (There are just 25 such syllabuses, compared with 429 'single' level syllabuses). Since there's twice as much content in the syllabus, the grades awarded gain double the number of UCAS points when compared to single level subjects.

It's roughly analogous to my university degree, which is in 'Mathematics as a Double Subject' (i.e. Maths & More Maths!) whereas most of my fellow BEd students obtained a 'two subject' degree (e.g. Mathematics and Physics).
