Rest Days

Our company often have people working through the night and they are given the next day off paid as a rest day. Would this rest day be included as part of the normal working hours

The EC Working Time regulations said you must have a break of 11 hours between work shifts. Most firms deal with this by allowing you the next day off if you work overnight. Doesn't count for normal office hours as you already have more than that time between shifts.
