Hello

I am doing a paired sample t-test to analyse my results for my dissertation but for some reason if never asks me if I am doing a one or two tailed test? Does anyone know why this is? Or how to correct it?

Not sure if it matter but I am using SPSS 14

Thanks in advance

Hi there, you'd probably get more of a response in Science on this type of Q.

You arent being asked because you are pairing samples, therefore you are looking at the difference between the pairs.

In essence it is doing a two tailed test, it will tell you whether there is a difference but not in which direction. If you want to do a one-tailed test you dont use paired samples/.
