Treatment Plan For High Cholesterol Patient.

A 56 year old patient with Total cholesterol 7.2mmol/l needs the treatment plan for this high cholesterol. What are the management and treatment options???
Can you please give some treatment plan??? with monitoring and monitoring???

You need to speak to your GP about that one, they will help you in regards to regime, diet etc.
This sounds very much like homework on a clinical course.....

Depends on the patient - could be diet, could be introduction of statins - the GP gave me both. Blood tests every 2-3 months. Weight loss recommended.
PS this would have been better posted under the Health section, where all our replies have a caveat - but it being in Education makes me more believing that this is a basic assignment question.
2 questions need answering.
1) What is the breakdown of HDL/LDL?
2)Does the patient need a "treatment plan" at all?
