i want to major in psycology. after i obtain my masters can i get my doctorate with out the study of medicine?

Psychology - with an 'h'.
In the UK you can follow this route but it will depend on the subject you are researching and some medical knowledge will inevitably be important. Being successful at either will require your being able to obtain (usually unpaid) placements to get experience.
In UK a PhD in any subject gives the title Doctor. No medicine needs to be istudied.
My friend has a doctorate - in literature.

He is the last person in the world who should practise medicine, believe me!
