I'm having a mental block but need someone to tell me this.

If an employee leaves an employer before the end of the tax year they do not get a P60. This employee left just 2 weeks prior to the end of the tax year. I know they get P45 when they leave but I'm not sure on the P60 part. Please let me know asap

A P60 shows the earnings and deductiuons for the financial year whilst in that employemnt and so yes they are due one.
If they get a new job is it up to the new employer?
I've always assumed one got just one p60 per tax year but maybe you get one from each employer.
I'd be interested to know- it can probably be looked up quite easily on the HMRC site
Surely you only get one at the end of each tax year.
An employer only gives an emplyee a P60 if they are in employment with them on the 5th april, if they leave prior to this then the P45 will show pay and tax in that employment and possibly for the full tax year. The employer has till the 31st may to produce a P60 if required. http://www.hmrc.gov.u...r-end/checklist.htm#8
