Why has very little been reported, regarding this protest by the English Defence League?

When a Radio presenter was asked why this was, he said perhaps it was because it was a Bank holiday, making it a slow news day???????

What has been reported has been slanted against the EDL, although apparently there was a large presence of Far Left & Asian thugs, aiming to inflict injury on the protesters and police.

A report taken from English Defence League's website.

/// Gangs of Muslims are roaming the streets with knives. We have had a lot of feedback from supporters in Dudley, and all are saying the same things, the police are letting this happen. Muslims are being allowed to walk around unchallenged with weapons. Knives, bricks, you name it. What is going on in this Country? There are hundreds of police there, but none seem to be doing anything about them. I will take this back if there are reports that hundreds of Muslims have been arrested for carrying weapons tomorrow, but i wont be holding my breath.///

So the protesters are protesting about something that has already been discarded ?

And you wonder why there was little reportage ?

<Muslims are being allowed to walk around unchallenged with weapons. Knives, bricks, you name it.>

This is a direct quote from EDL's website ?

Obviously no bias there, then...............
Two blokes on a roof, protesting against a develpment that isn't going to happen?

No I can't understand why its not national news.
I am sure this was on the BBC news this morning (although I live in the West Midlands so it may have been on the local news).

Not sure I would trust what is said on the EDL web site (any more than I would trust what was said on a web site run by the anti-EDL people either).

I have to say though generally the "right" (or far right if you wish) get more negative press than the "left" (or far left).

In many ways they are as bad as each other and when we had the EDL march in Birmingham a few months ago their were aggressive Asian thugs walking round with scarves covering their faces, and bottles and chair legs ready to attack people.

Ah yes the EDL

They claim to not be racist and only oppose millitant jihadist's

Then they go about chanting "We hate muslims"

The reason the roof top protest is a non-story is because they're protesting against the building of a mosque which ISN'T going to be built.

The thickos.

By the way did anyone notice that in the photos of the proesters, one was holding up a banner which read 'BAN THE BURKA'.

He's wearing a balaclava.

Pure comedy.

Even Chris Morris would be hard pressed to top that.
It's reported in the Daily Mail.

The BBC
http://news.bbc.co.uk..._midlands/8657832.stm

There are no gangs of Muslims roaming Dudley streets with knives or any other weapon. There may be gangs of youths hell bent on causing trouble with each other, but they are not exclusively Muslim.

The mosque plans had been withdrawn by the Muslims after 18 months of consultation with the council, nothing at all to do with the EDL that were bussed in from other parts of the country looking for a ruck.

In the 60s it was mods and rockers on Brighton beach, in the 70s it was football hooligans, now it's youths who use political pointers which they don't understand as an excuse to cause trouble.
I like this from the Daily Mail

// The protest came just a month after 2,000 of far-right EDL protesters descended on Dudley to march against Islamic extremism.
Some bashed down metal fences, threw metal brackets at police and even fought with their own stewards who were trying to calm them down. //

Your BNP and EDL sympathies and general support for right wing thugs and your unpleasant obsession with race and colour, mark you out as Answerbank's most extremist poster.

Yes I thought it strange that they should continue to protest against a matter that had already been abandoned.

But having said that, why is it that if the indigenous English want to protest against something that is alien to England and our culture, we are called Far Right or Racist?

Are we not allowed a voice?
// why is it that if the indigenous English want to protest against something that is alien to England and our culture, we are called Far Right or Racist? //

Have you looked at ChuckFickens link and the numpties you are supporting?
The 22,000 signatures on the petition which finally seems to have scuppered the planned mosque were acepted without taint of racism........I would say that that was a victory for the 'common man'.
i like chucks link, most of the arrests in manchester were from the unite thugs mob.

what people forget about is how much money the shops lose with these thugs on the streets.

why will the unite mob not let the edl nutters march one week and then they can march the next.

It's because the protests are anti-Muslim. The UK is absolutely teeming with foreign culture (Levi jeans, MacDonalds, The Gap, Zara, Starbucks, Ikea).
All very foreign.

However, that's the "right kind of foreign", isn't it?

I'd love to hear whether anyone protesting against new mosques being built actually support their local churches - or whether they spend their Sundays at B&Q superstores.
Wow...just checked out ChuckFickens' link.

How do you come to that conclusion?

One would not expect any difference from the web-site of the 'Unite Against Fascism'.

I think Chuck was asking "who are the thugs" having read my passage from the English Defence League's website, and then himself posting the opposite view from the Unite Against Fascism website.

My point is that the videos I've seen show the EDL to be nothing more than your
average workaday thug.

And I have a theory as to why that is...the FA have clamped down on violence on the terraces, so these testosterone-fuelled lowbrows have to work out their rage someplace else.

Also, they are directlu responsible for the creation of UAF. If the fascists didn't exist, there's be no reason to unite against them.

I will continue to fly my national flag with pride having watched that video clip, Mr Smith came across as a complete uneducated idiot.

Then people have the nerve to criticise Nick Griffin, it makes one almost keen to support him.

It is the UAF that are the fascist, they will try at every possible moment to attack the conveyers of free speach.

United against Fascists one week, United against Capitalism the next, they are nothing more than dirty Communists, supporters of the late Joe Stalin, a man just as evil as Herr Hitler.
