Hi,

I recently was involved in an accident where my vehicle caused damage to another vehicle. I passed on all the relevant information to my insurance company but this morning I received the following text on my mobile phone from the other car owner:

"Your insurance company will not pay the difference between the car and the car loan. It is short by 984, will you be able to make up the difference"

How do I stand on this one. is it down to me to make up the difference? Many thanks, Phil.

I agree with mdoo98, the financial arrangments of the owner are irrelevant. The insurance company have agreed to pay what they say it's worth that's all they'll do. It matters not that there is finance outstanding that's down to the owner of the car. Sounds like a bit of a cheek to me in fact! A serious case of delusion.
Never get into any discussion with the other party. Leave your insurance company to it.
DO NOT pay the difference its nothing to do with you.
Report it to your insurance company.
