bednobs what we pay now is for both of us..
mine will have to be added to that cost I am shopping around as we speak red x |
|
is that £300 annually? or £300 a month? if it's annually, it only works out at £60 a year more than you're currently paying, or to put it another way an extra fiver a month.
have you tried saga or diabetes uk? |
|
The bulk of the monthly amount was probably for Bill anyway...your own will probably be cheap.

bobbi,
having paid out hundreds of pounds over the years in insurance i decided this year i would use just use my bank account one instead. one fall later, little CRX spends 6 hours in casualty having 3 stitches put in his face and bang, theres a $950 bill for me. NEVER risk going without insurance in a place like that My bank one is natwest, i will hopefully only need to pay £50 excess and it costs me £12 a month for the advantage gold account. |

bobbi, we apparently pay something like £70 a year for both of us through alan rogers. here's a link to it:

Open a current bank account with Lloyds TSB. Go for the “gold” option if you want Worldwide travel cover, “Silver” if you need only European. It will cover both of you until you are aged 80. You must inform them of any pre-existing medical conditions but most (I think including diabetes) are covered without extra cost. The cost is £12 per month for Gold (introductory offer of £7.95 for the first two months) or £7.95 for Silver (£3 for first two months).
If you can manage to have £1,000 per month paid in upgrade to “Vantage” and you will receive up to 4% interest on your balance up to £7,000. (This is being reduced to3% up to £5,000 from June). PS – I don’t work for Lloyds! |

Several charities (providing support to people with disabilities and medical conditions) provide a link to this broker on their websites:
http://www.able2travel.com/ (I've posted that information before and several people have reported back that they've found reasonably-priced insurance there. Worth a try, perhaps?). Chris |

Hi, my parents used ALL CLEAR last year as they are both into their 70s and have been finding it expensive with some companies they have used recently. All Clear were £500 cheaper than the ones they used the year before, so maybe worth a look. My father has lots of pre existing so it's always going to be high for him anyway but these were the cheapest he found.

I agree bobbi the prices are sky high. I will also try some of these companies as mine was £330 (a year) last year just for Me and I'm only 48 years old lol. I hope you get fixed up.
|
|
would it not be cheaper to just get cover for a particular trip?
|
|
Trigg Mine was for 2 separate holidays 1 was 2weeks and the other was 1 week the £330 was for both,, Then I thought *daft Me should have bought an annual one* So I rang then back to ask and I was told it would cost £350.
So a note to others is to ask for both quotes. |
