I have an 18 month contract for landline with BT since May of last year and recently moved home.
BT is continuing the service but has provided me with a new tel number. However, when the switchover was made, the customer service agent told me that as I was moving I would be starting a new 18 month contract. I believe this is incorrect as nothing of the sort is stated in previous bills, all it says is that if I move I will have to take the remaining time left on the agreement with me. This I am fine with, but certainly not starting with them again!!!
