Everything appears to be working but the paper is not being picked up and the "paper blockage" light comes on but there is no paper blockage inside the copier. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably a little tiny bit of paper stuck in there, in line with a sensor.

Did you pull the last piece out, and tore it?

This happens at work --- unplug, reboot and try again
