Connect a Scart lead from the Freeview box to the VCR. Programme the VCR to record in the usual way but, instead of selecting a numbered channel, press 'AV' as the recording source. (The only problem with that piece of advice is that different manufacturers use different labels on the handset for 'AV'. It might appear as 'Line', 'Line In', 'L1', 'Ext', 'Aux', or something, similar on your handset). Leave the Freeview box switched on, and receiving the channel you want to record.
However, you should note that you can't record one Freeview channel while watching another. Each 'active' channel (i.e. that's being watched or recorded) requires its own tuner, and your system only has one digital tuner.

note that if your freeview box has only one set of outputs or one scart socket, you ill need to conenct that to the vcr (not the tv) and then set the tv to the video channel to view anything.
these boxes are so cheap, I would recommend getting another to connect directly to your tv, thus allowing you to watch one thing whilst recording another. you will also need a couple of RF coaxial cables to daisy chain them.
