Hi,

I won a tv through ebay from an electrical company (richer sounds) that stated that it was graded with some cosmetic marks but it was new with a 12 month sony manufacturer warranty and a 3 month return to their shops warranty.  On receiving the tv it had a few cosmetic marks on the side, but worked ok.

However the tv stopped working 3 days later, i have a receipt for the purchase, i rang richards sounds and they have said to contact there ebay seller and get a refund or replacement.  If he cannot offer a replacement can i go with my receipt to my local sony repair centre and have it repaired under the 12 month warranty as it stated that in the auction and was bought through a business?

thanks

Yeah, you'll be fine. If it is Richer Sounds they are normally pretty good when it comes to returns and customer service. I think the "Sale of Goods Act" still applies (distance selling regulations). Goods must be fit for the purpose in which they were supplied.
