i have a Panasonic sv-sd50 mp3 player which has lost its 64mb card, can I 1/ use any make of sd card 2/ fit a bigger one than the 64Mb thanks

as long as its the right size of card (xd/sd etc) then you can use one with a greater capacity
from a brief look about it would seem 2gb is about the limit for that player.... you could try a larger one but it may not work.

Also it would appear that the card reader that's supplied with it is only USB1 so it may be a good idea to get a USB2 card reader, otherwise you'll be looking at a several hours to copy 2gb of music onto the card.
