How to unlock a camera?

My son has a vivicam 3786s camera and when it is switched on it now comes up with a padlock sign when you try to do anything to it, he says he doesn't know why and he didn't do anything (typical 8yr old response) but if anyone has any ideas would be very grateful-was only cheap but would still prefer not to have to replace it! Thanx.

Try taking the memory card out I think there is a little tab on the side. Flick this write protect tab and that should sort it.

thank you for your answers, (don't know where instructions are) moved the bit on the memory card and all back to normal. Thanks again.
